Polish farmers demand EU support parity when they join
POLAND wants the same agricultural supports as western European farmers after it joins the European Union (EU), according to Ryszard Czarnecki, head of the countrys EU integration committee.
He expected Poland to become a member in “six to seven years”. Membership talks begin in six weeks.
His farming remarks reflect concern that the EU will want to limit Polish farmers access to agricultural support and structural funds once they join the EU.
