Poor harvest prompts Salvesen warning

CHRISTIAN Salvesen has warned that a poor summer harvest and the Pounds strength will hit profits.

It said the strong Pound would knock about £2 million off earnings.

The wet early summer hit the pea harvest especially hard. There was a 40% decline in volumes in Salvesens foodservice business as a result.
