Portable lamps warn or just throw light

SUITABLE for both warning and illumination, DG Controls has introduced a range of portable, battery-powered warning lamps.

The Derbyshire-based firm offers two rechargeable power sources – either lead-acid or NiCd – with choice depending largely on application. The lead-acid models are heavier and can power bigger lamps, so tend to be used as stand-alone units, while the NiCd versions are lighter and more suitable for vehicle mounting.

Lamp options include xenon flashing, a pulsed filament and clear or coloured domes. Prices start at about £170 (01283-550850).
