Predators and parasites better than the chemical cosh

Recent advances in predator selection to control pests means that these can now function in the Scottish climate in a way that was previously not considered possible, reports The Herald in its section for students.

The newspaper suggests that bio-control has already proven to be efficient in a diverse range of crop situations. Control of pests by predators is also likely to prove more economical in the long term.
