Primrose bids hit 10,000gns
A TOP price of 10,000gns and an average of £5234 for 15 members of the Primrose family – tracing back to the great Somerford Falcon Primrose – were the highlights of the Watergate sale staged by John Hunter at Bicester.
Top call came for the second-calver Dynasty Tab S Primrose, which gave 12,037kg as a heifer and has a PIN of +£116, placing her number 16 in the UK PIN list. Buyer was W G Troup of the Valeoskene herd in Aberdeenshire.
A 6800gns call from Robin Loxam, buying for a client, secured him the 12,500kg heifer Dynasty Mandingo SS Primrose (PIN value of +£129, third on the UK list).
Guest consignments came from David Hulls Twizzlefoot herd, Spiby Partners Olympian herd and Grosvenor Farms Grosvenor herd.
