Progeny showcase

THE Progeny Showcase, the first competition of its kind ever staged at the Royal Show, was the highlight of the British Simmental Cattle Societys silver jubilee celebrations and offered £6000 in prize money.

The 15 sire and dam groups produced intense competition and brought victory to one of the breeds most garlanded cows, Brinkton Melody 3rd, shown with four of her progeny by owners Bob and Jean Lunness from Humberside.

Bob Douglas, Forfar, came a close second with progeny of the bull Ingleston Vodka.

It included stock supplied by Albert Clements and Partners, Stowmarket, who had one of their most successful Royal Shows with Simmental cattle.
