Reasehall dispersal proves popular
A HUGE crowd competed for Holsteins at the dispersal of the Reasehall herd, Reaseheath College, Nantwich, where trading reached 2000gns and levelled the 136 cows and heifers in-milk at £875.
The herd is being replaced with the Genus Moet Nucleus herd which is moving from Bays Leap Farm.
Reasehall Raider Girafe, a third calver giving 53.7kg and with a previous lactation of 12,000kg, topped the day selling to W S Pugh, Market Drayton. The true-red Reasehall Inspiration Dawn Red, with two notes at over 10,000kg, made 1900gns. She is due in June to Kirkblythe Saracen and heads for Bruton, Somerset, with Paul Andrews.
There were 37 bids at 1000gns and over for milking cattle; served heifers met a flying trade reaching 1200gns for Reasehall Marconi Marijke due in September to Hondo Aero. She was bought – along with her Jabot dam at 1650gns – by D J Harden for his Nanhoron herd in north Wales.
Maiden heifers sold to 1000gns for a Lord Lily daughter bought by Ed Lean, south Glamorgan.
