Register for march

THE Countryside Alliance has opened its registration hotline for its Liberty and Livelihood March to be held in London this September.

Organisers are asking people to register to help them with arrangements for the event which will take place on Sept 22. The telephone hotline (0990-102 0900) will be open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm. Calls will cost 60p/minute and cost a maximum of £1.80.

March director James Stanford said registration enabled organisers to cater for an anticipated number of people in terms of route planning, stewarding and transport.

"We need to stress that even if supporters registered for the 2001 postponed march, they should re-register for this march," he said.

On the build-up to the march, Countryside Alliance supporters are continuing with their policy of demonstrating at events attended by any of the DEFRA ministers.
