Right on for skid-steer loaders

DESPITE having a strong presence in the construction market, Case concedes its skid-steer loaders have kept a low profile in the agricultural sector.

The company now intends to increase its share of this market by launching three new models.

Built in America, the 40XT and 60XT loaders replace the existing 1840 and 1845 machines, while the 70XT becomes the vanguard of the new range.

Case claims it has tweaked the loaders arm geometry to give slightly more lift height.

With rated operating capacities of 680kg, 820kg and 910kg, the loaders are powered by 56hp, 60hp and 83hp Case engines.

Transmission comprises a double variable displacement pump which drives the four wheels via chains from a pair of fixed displacement motors.

Stopping power is provided by a multi-disc oil bath brake which, for safety, is also applied automatically when the cab safety bar is raised.

Reluctant to give prices, Case says the skid-steers will be competitive.

Case intends to take a larger slice of the agricultural market with its new skid steer range.
