Right width for the road

DANISH farm machinery engineers have drawn on experience with big mower drawbars to produce a wide pick-up trailed forage harvester with practical transport width – a particularly important consideration for UK users.

Pick-up reels up to 2.8m (9ft 3in) wide will be available, enabling the FCT-based precision chop harvester to collect two swaths from one pass. The drawbar is routed over the pick-up, with drive transmitted through two heavy-duty gearboxes with a swivel joint between them – similar to the arrangement on JFs GMS-D trailed mower conditioner. Overall transport width is 3m (9ft 10in).

JFs UK importer, Westmac, is putting the harvester through a final evaluation programme this year.
