Roadshows deal with farming dilemma
FARMING has seldom been under such pressure. The economic outlook is decidedly gloomy, the political background complex and public perception poor.
But to help farmers cope, MAFF is staging a series of regional roadshows in association with FARMERSWEEKLY to explain how integrated farming can improve farm profitability and help meet environmental objectives.
The events draw on experiences gleaned by the Integrated Arable Crop Production Alliance which represents seven key organisations involved in the research, development and promotion of integrated farming systems.
At the 1999 Farming Dilemma roadshows this November, IACPA speakers will explain the practical opportunities for adjusting soil management, crop protection, crop nutrition and environmental management.
A presentation from a local well known farmer who uses integrated farming is also included in the afternoon-long programme.
To book your place at one of the seven venues, simply return the coupon in the post, fax to 0207-921 1167 or contact the event co-ordinator (0207-921 1158). *
