Rubber-track plan

PLANS to build rubber track systems for medium-sized conventional tractors will be unveiled by a new company with a familiar name – Roadless Traction – at Smithfield FarmTech next week.

Roadless Traction was among the pioneers of tracked vehicles between the 1930s and 60s and later of four-wheel-drive tractors, with systems for a number of makes, including Ford, Case and Allis Chalmers.

The new project is at a very early stage so the companys FarmTech presence will be used to gauge interest in tracked concepts rather than to launch a specific vehicle or system. &#42
