Satellites to improve Scottish land
THE Scottish Agricultural College has teamed up with the Game Conservancy Council on a European Union-funded project to examine changes in grassland, heath and woodland across Europe.
The project, costing just over £150,000 in Scotland, will use satellites and more conventional techniques to map various areas.
The information will be used to improve the management of upland areas for sheep and deer, with particular attention to grouse moors.
