Save £600 on milk cooling equipment

NORTH-WEST dairy farmers are being offered the chance save on the cost of milk pre-cooling equipment by electricity company Norweb.

To qualify farm electricity demand must be under 100kW and herd size between 40 and 125 cows. The farm pays for the supply and installation of the pre-cooler and can claim back up to £600 of the cost of the equipment from Norweb.

Milk pre-cooling will help maintain milk quality, says Norweb, by reducing warm parlour milk by 10-15C (50-59F) immediately, before the milk enters the bulk tank.
