Schering to have stake in Aventis
GERMAN pharmaceutical concern Schering, which jointly owns an agrochemicals venture with Hoechst, is to receive a 24% stake in Aventis CropScience.
The move ends speculation about Scherings role in Hoechsts planned merger with Rhone-Poulenc of France.
Aventis CropScience will include Hoechsts AgrEvo joint venture, in which Schering has a 40% holding.
Hoechst and Rhone-Poulenc will equally hold the remaining 76% in Aventis Crop Science.
