Scientists produce super-egg
SCIENTISTS have developed a super-egg which could boost immune systems, lower blood cholesterol, enhance brain growth and protect humans against cancer.
Researchers at the Scottish Agricultural College created the egg by enriching the diet of hens rather than by genetic modification.
They claim the egg contains high levels of DHA, the fatty acid recommended by doctors, and deliver the required daily amount of vitamin E and lutein and selinium.
The egg will be unveiled today at the Edinburgh Science Festival.
