Scotbeef changes for export
SCOTBEEF has been forced to make a number of changes to its operations to get to grips with the Date Based Export Scheme to export to Holland and Italy.
The Herald reports on the bureaucracy involved in complying with the regulations in an interview with the companys chairman Ian Galloway.
He says Scotbeef is yet to make a profit from the export operation.
Scotbeef supplies some of the biggest names in food retailing – Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury, the Co-op and the McDonalds burger chain.
It has 1300 farmer suppliers.
