Scots dairy men could face £38m super-levy
A RECORD super-levy fine of nearly £38 million for Scottish dairy farmers who produced more milk than their quota permits looks likely, writes The Scotsman.
This comes after quota was exceeded by an estimated 151.32m litres, equivalent to about four days production.
However, a reduction could be announced any time from the middle of May once the Intervention Board completes its review of the balance between direct and wholesale quota conversions.
