Scots farmers lose sheep premium

SOME Scottish sheep farmers are destined to miss out on this years Sheep Annual Premium (SAP) and could even be forced to make a repayment for last year.

The problem has arisen from SAP rules which say that the parties in any farming partnership must hold sheep quota in line with their specific share in the business.

Some 250 businesses are likely to be affected, reports The Herald.

The paper quotes one anonymous farmer who claims he will receive no SAP this year and is likely to be forced to repay 50% of last years cheque.
