Scots import Aberdeen-Angus cattle

SCOTLAND is about to see history turned on its head with the first importation of Aberdeen-Angus cattle, reports The Herald.

John McGregor of The Binn, Glenfarg, near Perth, will shortly be taking delivery of 48 embryos from Argentina.

He intends to implant his embryos in commercial heifers early next month.

Malcolm Rodman, a sixth-generation Argentine who has worked as a senior herd inspector with the Argentine Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society, advised Mr McGregor.

Both men are visiting the Royal Show at Stoneleigh this week.
