Sea defences to protect grazing
THE government is contributing 1 million to the cost of protecting 880ha (2174 acres) of grazing land on the north Norfolk coast.
The award of the grant follows a change of policy by the ministry of agriculture.
The change, under European wildlife directives, means the government has an obligation to protect conservation areas.
The flood defences will also protect the habitat of thousands of geese.
