Sentry Group profits down
SENTRY Farming Group has announced pre-tax losses of £774,000 in the six months to Jun 30, 1997 on turnover of £3.94m. This compares with a loss of £497,000 in the corresponding period of 1996.
The difficult harvest, its effect on crop quality and the lower grain price due to sterlings strength were cited as the reasons.
And if the lower grain values persist, full-year profits will be well down on 1996, said the company. Shares in Sentry fell from 115p to 83.5p following the announcement.n
