Shaking bottle benefits crops

SHAKE the bottle well before you add an adjuvant to your spray tank. Its simple to do and can make a massive difference to pesticide efficacy, such as when tackling wild oats, says Syngenta.

Vigorous shaking ensures the adjuvants components are evenly mixed and avoids leaving the most important elements, the surfactants, stuck to the bottom of the bottle, explains the firms Paul Varney.

"Its not a major problem, more timely advice. Its this sort of attention to detail that can deliver extremely worthwhile yield benefits, especially when you are dealing with high weed populations."

Alan East for adjuvant supplier Interagro fully endorses the message. "It should be standard procedure to shake first to overcome any settling of the surfactant." &#42
