Silsoe College plays host to Precision Day

PRECISION farming gets its own event for the first time this year. In a joint initiative between farmers weekly, Silsoe College and Fusion Events, Precision Farming 96 is to be staged at the colleges land equipment centre in Silsoe, Beds on Wed, Mar 6.

The event aims to serve as a national field day for precision farming – the use of modern technology to vary inputs within specific fields.

Visitors will have the chance to see all the leading equipment and services, much of it being demonstrated in a practical working environment.

A programme of seminars will aim to explain the technology itself, how it might be applied on farm and the latest trial results.

Experts will also be available to discuss with individual farmers how the technology can be used to develop practical solutions for specific farm situations.

&#8226 Over the coming weeks farmers weekly will focus upon the technology involved, including a full guide to the event itself.
