Simpler feeder/bedder offers lower cost option

RESPONDING to calls for a lower cost feeder/bedder with simpler specification has prompted Kuhn Farm Machinery to offer its Primor 3560 as a "Side Chute" model.

Based on the "Top and Side" chute machine, the trailed 3560 distributes straw or silage through a side chute which has a maximum discharge height and range of 1.9m and 18m.

The feeder/bedder offers a 3cu m capacity for handling 1.6m diameter round and large rectangular bales and the tailgate can be lowered to provide extra carrying capacity. Hydraulically controlled, the tailgate is also designed to load bales.

All functions of the Primor 3560 are operated electronically from the cab and a gearbox offers two speeds: Slow for chopping and distributing silage, and a fast for blowing straw. Clamped silage can also be handled says Kuhn.

Power is transmitted from the gearbox through a shaft and four vee-belts which are engaged/disengaged using a hydraulic cylinder.

Material is delivered to the beater rotor by a hydraulically driven bed chain. Feed rate can be controlled and, should a blockage occur, the bed chain can be reversed.

Available with a 310í pivoting chute, price of the Primor 3560 is listed at £9995. &#42
