Sinn Féin fraud in bid to oust Rodgers
By FWi staff
SINN Féin has been accused of “massive” electoral fraud and intimidation in a bid to oust Stormont agriculture minister Brid Rodgers.
Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble said Sinn Féin, was using these tactics to seize West Tyrone, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Sinn Féin hopes to capture the seat for its vice-president Pat Doherty.
SDLP candidate Mrs Rodgers appears to be ahead, but the newspaper says thousands of postal and proxy votes have been issued which will decide the seat.
Mrs Rodgers has been pelted with eggs and suffered abuse and aggressive behaviour during the campaign.
Sinn Féin has denied involvement.
