SLH Deutz deal forges a powerful partnership
SAME Lamborghini Hurlimann (SLH) has finalised the purchase of the Deutz Fahr tractor and combine manufacturing and marketing business from German company, KHD.
The completion of the deal, which was first announced earlier this year (Machinery, Feb 3) makes the SAME group the second largest manufacturer of agricultural machines in Europe.
SLH says that tractors will continue to be sold under the four individual brand names – SAME, Lamborghini, Hurlimann and Deutz Fahr. There are no immediate plans to change the way in which Deutz Fahr equipment is marketed in the UK.
"The SAME group has had a European-wide policy to sell tractors under different brand names and through different dealers, since it took on Lamborghini in 1972," explains Tommy Porter, managing director of Same-Lamborghini UK.
"There are no short-term plans to change this approach in the UK, and I very much doubt whether there will be any changes in the longer term either," adds Mr Porter. *
