Slice of the action in Dorset

TRUST me to be confused with the directions when going to meet the Dorset members for lunch at the Larmer Tree Gardens on the Rushmore Estate at Tollard Royal, known as "the secret garden of Wiltshire".

If Id paid attention to the instructions so kindly sent to me by contact leaders Anne Hooper and Kay Ireland I too would have had a chance to look around the beautiful grounds and attractions.

But I arrived at 1 oclock exactly, the time set for lunch, and was told that there had been a fire in the kitchen and there would be a slight delay. Its an ill wind as they say, so I had a chance to chat and catch up with the news of the friendly members.

We eventually had a delicious lunch, roast beef, well worth waiting for, and then two of the longest standing members cut a 50th birthday cake on behalf of FWC.

I had to head off again to the Royal Bath and West Show but I do hope that the members enjoyed their wander around the gardens between the showers.
