Slurry directions

TAKE extra care to prevent pollution when spreading slurry after wet conditions, warns the Environment Ageny.

It is concerned that recent wet weather has left producers with larger volumes than normal to deal with.

It advises against spreading slurry on water-logged or bare land to prevent run off into nearby rivers and streams, and suggests making daily checks of streams and ditches for signs of pollution. It also advises inspecting slurry and dirty water stores for leaks.
