Vicons RF122 fixed chamber round baler is aimed at the small to medium sized farm.

Small baler offers all benefits of bigger type

LATEST development from Vicon comes in the form of the RF122 fixed chamber round baler.

Designed for use in silage, hay and straw and, says the company, offering all the benefits of the larger RF130 contractor model, the RF122 is aimed at the small to medium sized farm.

Producing bales measuring 1.25m in diameter and 1.22m wide (4ft 1in x 4ft), the new model replaces the RF120 and can be fitted with Vicons Opticut pre-chopping mechanism. Bales are formed by 14 rollers, each having serrated rib profiles to help create a positive crop turning action during bale forming.

The crop enters the baler through a 2.1m (6ft 10in) wide pick-up and enters the chamber with the help of a powered feed roller equipped at each end with crop centering augers.

Baler specification includes the use of a rotor clutch which allows bales to be tied off and ejected at any time should a blockage occur, and a choice of individual or combined twine and net tying systems.

Available in limited numbers for the 1998 season, prices start at £16,600.
