Small organic units are the future
THE future of farming lies in an industry with much fewer farmers growing only organic crops, according to two writers to the letters page of .
One calls for a smaller industry, less reliant on the export trade, and committed to the production of food in a less intensive, more welfare-friendly manner.
The other supports organic food production on the grounds that “long-term sustainability is the over-riding issue”.
