Software precision

PRECISION farming is getting a helping hand from new software designed to import and analyse data direct from global positioning system yield mapping.

Farmade Mapping with the GPS Module is the only software currently available which can use raw data from MF, RDS or Claas systems, claims Farmade sales and marketing manager Peter Henley. It will process and produce a contour map, showing yield variation across fields. It also provides Ordnance Survey scaling. Other information can be superimposed to help identify the factors influencing yield, he adds.

The package runs in Windows and costs £495 plus £300 for GPS.
