Still no T-bone for Scots
BEEF-ON-THE-BONE will be absent from Scottish butchers shops for at least another month or so.
The Scottish Chief Medical Officer (CMO) yesterday explained to the Scottish Parliaments rural affairs committee why he wants the ban to stay for now.
It is reported that he will wait to see an Oxford University report expected in the next few weeks before deciding whether to lift the ban.
Speaking to Radio 4s Farming Today programme MSP Alex Johnstone (Conservative, North East Scotland) said: “I believe hes almost as keen to see the beef on the bone ban lifted as his equivalent in England.
“But hes not prepared to make that decision on basis of conjecture. Hed rather wait and make that decision on the basis of fact.”
