Suffolk flock hits 3600gns on-farm

SUFFOLK breeders Robyn and Stan Hulme held their seventh on-farm production sale from their Crosemanor flock at Ellesmere, Shropshire, and saw prices reach 3600gns for a gimmer.

The gimmer is by Stockton Goldstar and out of a ewe by Muiresk Quintus, a tup that has left some of the flocks best females. The gimmer won its class at this years West Midlands Show and is in-lamb to the 5000gns Bawnogue Uluru. Buyer was Rita Carville, who runs the Tideswell Moor flock in Derbys.

Alan Blair was determined to secure the top ewe lamb for his Thornfleet flock in Lancs and paid 1400gns to do so. The lamb is by Ensdon Eclipse and out of a ewe by the breeds record breaking sire Pankymoor Prelude (John Swan and Sons; J Straker Chadwick and Sons). &#42
