Suffolk ram lamb makes 1900gns

LEICS Suffolk breeder John Hallam and his daughter Shiela Eggleston had a good day at the breeds Midland and Southern Area branch fixture at Bingley Hall, Stafford.

They clinched the championship and top price with a ram lamb by Cairness Cool Character, bred in their Seagrave flock. It made 1900gns to Mrs K Hill, Wellington, Somerset.

Geoff Biddulph, Macclesfield, Cheshire, stood reserve with a Daleford Hanky Panky ram lamb that made 1700gns to Alan Wass, Peterborough. The five lambsfrom his Pexhill flock averaged£980.
