Suffolk star makes a guest appearance
Pankymoor Prelude, a Suffolk ram that has sired progeny worth £1 million, made a guest appearance at the Royal Show. The five-year-old ram, sire of the 68,000gns breed record-breaker Muiresk King of Diamonds, is owned in partnership by Shropshire breeders Stan and Robyn Hulme, the Mair family from Aberdeenshire and fellow Aberdonian Jimmy Douglas and was sold as a ram lamb for a then-record price of 22,000gns. As well as producing a string of big money sons, he has had a major impact as a female breeder. Over half the ewes in the Mairs Muiresk flock are sired by him.
