Sulphur gives seasonal lift
THE increasing importance of sulphur as a nutrient is reflected in a new fertiliser from Hydro Agri (UK).
Sulphur Crop is a 13:13:21 compound with 12% SO3 designed to be used as a first spring top-dressing before later straight N applications under the firms Incrop system.
The latter was launched after research showed that on soils with P and K indices of 1 or above, all nutrients can be applied in the spring to save costs and ease autumn workloads.
The new grades higher proportion of potash reflects findings that sulphur deficiencies occur more frequently on light soils, which also tend to be low in K. *
