Swedish EMU scepticism grows

SCEPTICISM in Sweden about European economic and monetary union (EMU) extends from rural farming communities to the Riksdag in Stockholm.

The Financial Times says it looks certain that Sweden will not take part in the EMU in 1999. There is little agreement, even in the cabinet, on how to proceed.
