Swine fever restrictions lifted
THE Government has lifted movement restrictions on pigs in areas affected by the swine fever outbreak, reports The Times.
However, a Ministry of Agriculture spokesman said individual restrictions would remain on some sites.
These include premises where pigs were slaughtered as dangerous contacts.
The outbreak of swine fever which brought many pig farmers to the brink of ruin began in August and led to movement restrictions in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.
