Take a shade break

HEALTH and safety officials have made a plea for people, including farmers, to take care when they are working outside this summer.

The HSE has issued guidance for employers and employees which provides advice on ways to reduce the health risk from the ultraviolet radiation from the sun.

It suggests avoiding unnecessary exposure by taking breaks in the shade and wearing long-sleeved shirts and hats with a wide brim.

Norman Smith, HSEs radiation policy adviser, said: "A suntan is not a sign of good health." &#42
