Tasty licks lead to healthier flocks

FEEDING lambs with natural Imuherb bucket licks could help reduce coccidiosis risk, says distributor Zintec Feed Supplements.

On-farm trials on flocks with a history of coccidiosis are said to have shown a good response to blocks, with lambs remaining free from the disease.

As well as the health promoting herb mixture, Imuherb, blocks also supply a full range of vitamins and trace elements for ewes and lambs and are suitable for organic production systems, according to the company.

Licks should be fed to ewes from six weeks before lambing and to ewes and lambs for several weeks after lambing, advises Zintec. A 20kg bucket costs £16 and supplies 20 ewes or 40 lambs for two weeks (01568-708008, fax 01568-708987).
