Teaching teachers how farming really works

SCHOOLCHILDREN run the risk of growing up thinking that food comes from supermarket shelves rather than farmers fields, according to the Country Landowners Association.

The CLA has organised a conference aimed at teachers to show how lesson plans can be devised to integrate rural issues into the national curriculum. Countryside in the Core Curriculum takes place at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, on Oct 15.
