Teagle takes more interest in windrowing
GREATER interest in windrow composting has led Teagle to import the LeBoulch/Menart range of compost aerators.
Two models are available – the 4300SP and the 5300SP which straddle windrows of 4.3m and 5.3m, respectively.
Both models are capable of aerating depths of up to 2m, which is the optimum starting height for windrow composting, says Teagle.
Pto powered, the aerators have integral hydrostatic drive systems which, through the use of two powered land wheels, moves the machine forwards at a very slow speed.
In operation, the the tractor is left in neutral, but the operator can alter the forward speed to cater for different working conditions.
At the business end, compost is aerated by a 1.1m diameter rotor driven from the tractor pto via a bevel gearbox – the 4300SP has a 540rpm pto input and the 530SP, a 1000rpm. Short auger flights at the ends of the rotor arms are designed to ensure thorough edge mixing and the formation of a good windrow profile. Rotor height is hydraulically controlled from the tractor cab.
Options for both models include liquid applicators, cover removers and dispensers, and oversize wheels. For transport, the drawbar is swung through 90 degrees and two transport wheels lowered to allow the machines to be towed end on. *
