Teenager dies after kick by cow

A TEENAGER has died in hospital after being kicked by a cow.

David Bell, 16, suffered serious head injuries after being hurt by the heifer on a Wigtownshire farm. He was a casual worker at Bishopton Farm, Whithorn.

A report on the accident is being sent to the procurator-fiscal at Stranraer and the Health and Safety Executive is carry out an investigation.

In a second accident, Graeme Rippingale, 42, suffered broken ribs when he fell through a roof on to a concrete floor at Rigghead Farm, Shawhead, near Dumfries.
