Telehandler just job for poultry

DESIGNED for use on confined building sites, Manitou says its latest MLT523 telehandler will also be at home on pig and poultry units.

Slotting in below the companys MLT526, the MLT523 stands 8cm shorter at 1.98m. Maximum width of the telehandler remains the same at just over 2m, but weighing in at 4965kg it is 820kg lighter.

Manitou says the loader with its smaller length has a tighter turning radius of 2.89m rather than 3.69m.

Body tucks have been achieved partly by using a hydrostatic rather than torque converter transmission and 46cm (18in) wide tyres.

Driving force is provided by either a 52hp or 64hp Perkins Turbo three-cylinder engine. Lift and height capacity is rated at 2.3t to 5m.

Due for a full UK evaluation this year, list price for the MLT523 is £35,000.
