Telehandler with

a curvy figure

THE shape of things to come? John Deere took Smithfield as an opportunity to show farmers its latest thinking on the development of its telehandler range.

Although retaining some of its Matbro heritage, the 4460s curvy lines encase a 100hp Deere PowerTech engine, which drives through the companys four-speed synchromesh powershuttle transmission.

Lift capacity is quoted as 2.7t to 5.5m (18ft) from a boom which, for better all-round visibility when in the transport position, now nestles in a groove between the cab and the hydraulic valve block housing. Turning radius is given as 3.25m (10ft 7in).
