Tesco to ban French produce?

SUPERMARKET giant Tesco has refused to deny reports that it is about to ban French produce from its stores, in retaliation against the French ban on British beef.
Industry sources this morning (Thursday) suggested that Tesco was set to remove French apples and pears from shelves in its British supermarkets.
A Tesco spokeswoman said she could not confirm the reports, but also refused to deny that such a move was imminent.
Earlier this week, the Budgens supermarket chain announced it was banning French apples and pears and called for other supermarkets to follow its example.
