The pressures on dirty water-tanks

WATER pressure regulators can now be used to replace traditional water tanks in poultry cages.

Removing the need for a water tank will make the supply more hygienic, claims maker R J Patchett of Bradford, West Yorks.

The Patchett regulator is said to be altered quickly to provide water at low pressure suitable for the age of bird and type of drinker.

And turning the head on the regulator will flush out drinking lines, preventing build-up of sediment, which can cause trouble in hard water areas.

Each regulator costs about £40. (01274-882331.)
