Farm folk band The Wurzels are set to stage a benefit concert for flood-hit farmers.

The Somerset Flood Relief Benefit Show will be held at Bridgwater’s Palace Theatre on Thursday 20 March.

Cash raised will go to the Somerset Flood Relief Fund and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution to aid the recovery efforts.

The band’s four current members – Tommy Banner, Pete Budd, John Morgan and Sedge Moore – and everyone else involved in organising the concert have given their services free.

The band’s accordionist, Tommy Banner, lives near the flood-affected areas in Taunton.

“The resilience of the community down here has been remarkable, but there is only so much these people can do for themselves,” he said.

“We hope that this show will help aid and support their recovery over the coming months and help them to get back to normal as soon as possible.”

Advance tickets are available for £12.50 by visiting www.midnightmango.co.uk or calling 0844 771 000.
