Brazen thieves have stolen more than 100 piglets from a Suffolk farm as witnesses looked on.

The theft took place at a farm in Cavenham on 27 August. Two people in The Street, Cavenham, called police when they heard the noise of squealing piglets.

The witnesses said they had seen two men taking piglets from a pen and loading them into a green trailer being pulled by a 4×4 vehicle.

A patrol car checked the unit and found that 102 piglets had been stolen but the thieves had escaped.

A statement by Bury St Edmunds police called for help in catching the crooks.

“If you saw any suspicious activity in the area or have any information about this theft please contact PC Ryan Waters at on 101 quoting MH/14/1399 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111,” the statement said.
